Interesting stories from a great guide!

I learned a lot from our guide on our Louvre tour, and it’s a huge difference compared to just walking around because you miss a lot of stories and history. She was very nice, explained everything, and answered all our questions. This is probably on everyone’s list, but I recommend seeing Liberty Leading the People!

Great private guide!!!

This was a great experience! Our guide made the visit to the Louvre so much better, so I definitely recommend it. Because we were in a private group, our guide asked us what we wanted to see and then took us to see the Mona Lisa first, the Grand Gallery, etc. She cared about providing us with a good time. Highly recommended!

Less people on the night tour

We booked the night tour to avoid crowds, and I’m happy with how it turned out. We didn’t have to elbow our way around, and we saw everything we wanted to. Our guide told us many interesting stories, like who the Mona Lisa is and so on. I’d definitely visit again like this!

FAQ - Louvre Museum Guided Tours

Should I reserve the Louvre Museum Guided Tour in advance?

As the Louvre Museum is the most visited art museum in the world, queues at the entrances can be very long. We recommend booking your tickets in advance. With our guided tour of the Louvre, you can enjoy priority access to save time and learn from an expert guide.

What is the best time to visit the Louvre?

It’s best to plan your visit early in the morning as it can be very crowded around midday. We offer an early morning tour of the Louvre, so you can see the Mona Lisa with fewer people around. Another good option is to arrive a few hours before closing, especially on Fridays, so you can leisurely walk around without the midday crowds.

Can I eat something in the Louvre?

There are various places in the Louvre Museum where you can get something to eat. We recommend Bistrot Benoit on level -2 or Goguette on level -1, both under the Pyramid, or Le Cafe Mollien on level 1 of the Denon wing. We suggest takeaway counters on level -1 of the Denon Mezzanine and under the Pyramid for a quick bite.

Is the Louvre Museum suitable for visitors with limited mobility?

You can rent a wheelchair, a cane, or a folding chair for free at the Help Desk under the Pyramid. Staff can escort you from the Information Desk to the exhibition rooms. Special restrooms can be found under the Pyramid and in various other locations. You can always ask for anything you need at the Help Desk. You can enter the museum via the Pyramid or the Carrousel shopping center. Disabled visitors and their carer can enter for free and with priority access after presenting valid documents.

Can I take photos in the Louvre Museum?

You can take photos for personal use, but please note selfie sticks, flash, and lighting are not allowed.

How to get to the Louvre?

If you arrive via metro, get off at the Palais-Royal/Musée du Louvre. Take lines 1 and 7. You can take buses no. 21, 27, 39, 67, 68, 69, 72, 74, 85, and 95. If you are going by car, you can park at 1 Avenue du Général Lemonier and enter through the Galerie du Carrousel entrance. Visitors with disabilities can pay a reduced price (inquire at the area for visitors with special needs under the Pyramid). Your taxi can drop you off at the Carrousel roundabout and pick you up after at the Place André Malraux. The Batobus can drop you off at the Louvre stop, Quai François-Mitterrand.

Can I leave my bag in the Louvre Museum?

You can use the self-service lockers under the Pyramid. However, large bags and suitcases are prohibited, and you must collect your items on the same day. Your bag should not exceed 55 x 35 x 20 cm.

Is there Wi-Fi at the Louvre?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available. The connection is timed and disconnects after one hour, but you can connect again.

Louvre Early Morning Tour

Be the first to see the Mona Lisa

Visit the museum and see the Mona Lisa without the usual crowds. An expert guide will accompany you and share the secrets of the Mona Lisa’s mysterious smile. They will tell you how the Mona Lisa used to hang in Napoleon’s bedroom before being added to the Louvre’s collection. This tour not only allows you to explore the Louvre in a more relaxed setting without the daytime crowds, but it also allows you to have all your questions answered by your guide, as they can give you their full attention. Time is precious in the Louvre, as it can get very crowded as midday approaches. Another great benefit of this tour is that you won’t waste time finding your way to any masterpiece – your guide knows the way and will quickly take you anywhere you wish to go!

Louvre Night Tour

End your day inspired by masterpieces

Avoid crowds that start to gather a few hours after opening and explore masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raphael, and da Vinci with an expert guide. This tour allows you to enter the Louvre before closing, so you can walk around without the midday crowds. Your knowledgeable guide will share many interesting stories about the masterpieces you see. Learn about how “Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss” by Antonio Canova and “Mercury Abducting Psyche” by Adriaen de Vries are connected. The first shows Psyche, a beautiful princess, being revived by a kiss from Cupid. The second one depicts Psyche being carried off to the heavens by Mercury, where she becomes immortal. The sculpture represents art (Mercury), making the soul (psyche in Greek) immortal.
